Weekly Reflection #6

Weekly Reflection #6
Written on 12/15/17

This past month in help desk, we have talked about Net Neutrality, honestly mad about this, also we talked a lot about the Hour of Code week, later we talked about the Google play store on the Chromebooks, finally, we talked about the PlayStation VR and the help desk party. Alright so about Net Neutrality, I'll have some videos explaining at the end of this, but basically it's a set of rules from the FCC in 2015 saying basically that a free internet is an American right, stopping the broadband companies, ex: Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, and many others from throttling access to certain websites, ex: slower speeds on youtube unless you or youtube pay more money. But now the FCC (with new leadership, a former Verizon lawyer.) wants and voted to repeal Net Neutrality and many states and companies are planning to sue the FCC to have them revert the decision. Now on the Hour of Code week, so we watched the iRobot and Microsoft presentations and used Microsoft's mixed reality. After this, we talked about the Play Store on the Chromebooks. Mr. Wong and I (mainly Mr. Wong) created a slideshow for teachers and students on how to use the play store. Finally, we talked about PlayStation VR which Mr. Wong own a device. Mr. Wong had brought it in on Friday, Dec. 15, and had said that near the end of next week there will be a help desk party. There he will have food and the PlayStation VR for the help desk students. Thank you for reading this and I hope you have a good Christmas break.
