Weekly Reflection #12
Weekly Reflection #12
Written between 10/30/19-11/5/19
During the past three weeks at the BHS Help Desk, we worked and prepared for STEM week, held STEM week, talked about Nintendo Labo, talked about the Makey Makey, talked about the Digitial Citizenship program, visited 5th graders at Memorial Elementry, played around with the Nintendo Ring Fit, started talking about AI, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). To start, STEM week took about a week and a half to prepare and wrap up, during STEM week we talked to students about things such as Sweet Home 3D, which is an architecture program, TinkerCAD and 3D printing keychains, Virtual Reality (VR): HTC Vive, the Playstation VR, the Nintendo Labo VR, Open Processing, and the Makey Makey. Next, we talked about the Digitial Citizenship program at BHS, which is a graduation requirement, it starts with the Freshman class joining a Google Classroom for their grade. Then they have until the end of Sophmore year to complete the tasks in the Google Classroom. Also, two of us from the Help Desk went to the Memorial Elementry school and taught about drones. One of the drones landed on the roof of the building, so I manually piloted down from there. Next, we played with the new Nintendo Ring Fit. It is like Wii sports but instead of a motion remove you use this wheel. It seems like it could be a fun thing if you think working out is boring. Then we talked about AI, such as Siri, Cortana, Google Assistant, and how they are developed. Currently, we are working on Amazon Web Services (AWS), to create chatbots that might work for the help desk to fix small issues or questions with/about devices. Also, I will be continuing to work on my Discord bot from two years ago. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great long weekend.
